Scandinavian Fabric & Folk Art Designs

Scandinavian fabric designs - wildly on trend and utterly fabulous. We love the current trend for Scandinavian fabric and East European style folk art influenced fabrics. The latest Echino Collection by Etsuko Furuya is abound with Scandinavian wood block and paper cut shapes, block and stencil style prints of birds and leaf and flower wreaths in the vibrant colours of the Folk Art tradition, particularly ‘Perch’ by Etsuko Furuya, and ‘Ornament’. Kokka’s Trefle Collection has some spectacular Folk Art fabrics including their Miriporun Collection and their Russian Nesting Dolls fabric, Matryoshka fabric and colourful Babushka fabrics. Rumba Birds and Morning Call fabrics from Hoodie for Blank Quilting along with ‘Birds of Norway’ from Michael Miller which is available both as printed cotton and as a fine pin-cord corduroy are also great examples of the Folk Art influence.
